RESTON, Va., October 14, 2026, — Aperio Global today announced that Michael Rubloff has joined the company as Global Lead, Spatial Computing & Visualization, a non-exclusive strategic role.
In this role, Rubloff will lead Aperio’s work in spatial capture, 3D reconstruction, visualization and market translation for Reality Engine, working in coordination with the company’s product and engineering leadership.
Reality Engine is the Spatial Node within Aperio’s Cognitive Layer Framework. It transforms captured environments into governed, contextualized and interactive intelligence for analysis, training, simulation and operational decision making.
“Michael understands that the value of spatial computing is not simply producing a better three dimensional image,” said Earl Stafford, Jr., founder and CEO of Aperio Global. “The value is creating a trusted spatial environment that people and machines can use to understand conditions, evaluate alternatives and make better decisions. His expertise strengthens our ability to deliver that capability for mission owners and commercial organizations.”
Rubloff will help advance Reality Engine across capture standards, reconstruction workflows, visualization quality, viewer experiences and compute performance. He will also support interoperability with simulation and robotics ecosystems, including NVIDIA Omniverse and Isaac Sim, as Aperio expands Reality Engine for defense, national security, critical infrastructure, autonomous systems and complex commercial environments.
Rubloff is the founder and managing editor of RadianceFields.com, a leading publication dedicated to Radiance Field representations such as Gaussian Splatting, Neural Radiance Fields, and emerging spatial computing technologies. He has authored technical content for NVIDIA, appeared on the NVIDIA AI Podcast and presented at NVIDIA GTC, SIGGRAPH and
other leading industry forums.
Rubloff will continue to lead RadianceFields.com, where he will keep publishing technical content and covering developments across 3D Gaussian Splatting, Neural Radiance Fields, and spatial computing.
He also serves as a Dell Pro Precision Ambassador and contributes to The Khronos Group’s work surrounding the broader adoption and interoperability of advanced three dimensional technologies.
“The next chapter of spatial computing is not simply about visualizing the physical world,” said Rubloff. “It is about turning captured reality into a usable and interoperable foundation for analysis, simulation and action for Physical AI. Aperio brings together the mission experience, technical architecture and partner ecosystem required to move these capabilities from compelling demonstrations into meaningful operational environments.”
Rubloff has already contributed to Aperio’s development of advanced capture and reconstruction workflows for complex cultural, industrial and mission environments. In this role, he will help establish measurable standards for capture quality, reconstruction speed, visual fidelity and compute performance across edge, workstation and data center infrastructure.
“Michael brings a rare combination of technical depth, product judgment and an understanding of how spatial technologies must evolve to create operational value,” Stafford added. “We are pleased to welcome him to Aperio and look forward to what we will build together.”
